Biography

Jamie grew up in Florence, South Carolina. He learned the value of hard work at an early age working with the family's small business in the automobile industry. After graduating high school, he started college at the University of South Carolina where he completed his bachelor degree in political science and went on to obtain his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Jamie began working with the firm of Koon and Cook, PA as a clerk. After demonstrating his clear work ethic and ability to think outside the box to obtain favorable results for clients, he was hired as an associate after graduation. Jamie relocated to the firm's Winnsboro office where he grew the office's civil litigation practice. In addition to his work at Koon and Cook, PA, Jamie was the sole DUI prosecutor for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, which includes Fairfield, Chester, and Lancaster County. In 2016, Jamie became a partner and the firm became Koon Cook & Walters, LLC.

During his time practicing law, Jamie has handled cases all over the state. He has shown a willingness and ability to handle the toughest cases and obtain favorable settlements or jury verdicts for his clients. Jamie has made a practice out of helping those in need. He has handled many matters for those in the auto industry and towing industry. His background has made him uniquely qualified to understand the needs of the companies he works with and their employees. He has represented the families of tow truck drivers who have been killed because of the recklessness of drivers. He helps companies pursue claims resulting from wrecked tow trucks including lost revenue.

Jamie handles cases throughout South Carolina for individuals injured in car accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, nursing home negligence, truck accidents, wrongful death, and work injuries. As a former prosecutor, he understands the criminal justice system and uses that knowledge to assist those who have been charged with a crime or traffic offense.
